Born amidst the breathtaking landscapes of North Norway in 1955, Jon Fylling carries within him the ethereal light and pulsating energy of his birthplace. An emotive maestro, Fylling's musical journey is guided by intuition, his compositions a heartfelt expression of his soul. Renowned for his role as an unconventional conductor, he weaves innovative orchestration and concert direction into a tapestry of sonic surprises. Fylling's artistic odyssey began at the Grieg Academy, Oslo University, and the Music Academy in Oslo, under the tutelage of luminaries such as Terje Kvam, Arnulv Hegstad, Eric Ericson, Stefan Sköld, and Helmut Rilling. A polymath of musical expression, Fylling, adept in flute, piano, cello, and vocals, explores a myriad of musical realms over his 35-year journey. Beyond the stage, he has devoted over two decades to imparting his wisdom, teaching performance, conducting, and composition.
